privacy policy

the short version

we collect the minimum needed to run your page, keep your account recoverable, and stop abuse. we do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies. your ip address is logged for security and account recovery only, nothing else.

what we collect

• email, to identify your account and let you change your password.
• password, stored only as a secure hash (bcrypt); we can never see it.
• ip address & device info (browser/user-agent), logged when you sign up and each time you log in, and once per visit to a profile (to count views honestly). this is the important one, so read the next section.
• recovery token, stored only as a hash; shown to you once at signup.
• content you upload, avatar, banner, background, music, links, bio, and anything else you add to your page.
• linked accounts, if you add a discord id/server, we fetch that public info from discord to display it.

why we log your ip address

your ip is used only for these purposes:

• account recovery, so we can confirm you're the real owner and give the account to the right person, or deny a takeover attempt.
• security & abuse prevention, one account per person, blocking vpns/proxies at signup, and keeping honest view counts.

ip addresses are never used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties for marketing. they're visible only to sins.fyi owners in an internal admin panel, where they stay blurred until deliberately revealed.

services we rely on

to run features, some data touches these providers, each for one job:

• password strength check, only a partial hash of your password is sent (it's never shared in full).
• vpn/proxy detection, your ip is checked at signup.
• discord, github, roblox, chess.com, weather, and translation services, used to show widgets and translated text.

your control

you can change your email or password, log out any device, and delete your account at any time from your settings. deleting your account permanently removes your page, uploads, and personal data.
